Until one has loved an animal, part of their soul remains un-awakened." ~Anatole France
This time of year amidst the Holidays it’s normal for people
far from home to feel a bit homesick. I
remember one year as I roamed the malls of Manila wanting to kill the person that wrote
“I’ll be home for Christmas.” However
this year I’m not missing the ice and snow I had my share the past two winters
to last me for awhile. I don’t miss
decorating the house with friends and family because I usually do that by
myself. I’m not missing The Santa Clause or The Elf I
found those movies here this year. I’m
not even in the mood for Lone Star’s 2 for $20 which I hear is back. And nobody puts up good Christmas lights to
go look at anymore and anyways Daph isn’t in the US so knocking on Arby’s door on
Christmas eve won’t be so much fun. And
everything else… I can’t even remember what other traditions we had so I can’t
miss those either. What I’m missing is
my beloved Baiylee. My heart absolutely
aches at the fact I can’t cuddle him to sleep every night. I’m crazy I know but I miss my dog!

puppies." - Gene Hill
